PENDUGAAN KERAGAMAN GENETIK DAN HERITABILITAS BEBERAPA GALUR PADI GOGO LOKAL (Oryza Sativa L.) PADA SELFING 1

The availability of dryland areas that have not been optimally utilized represents a new potential for increasing local upland rice productivity, while simultaneously serving as an agricultural strategy to address the degradation and conversion of lowland paddy fields in supporting national food security. This study aimed to determine the values of genetic diversity and heritability of several local upland rice cultivars. The research was conducted from February 2020 to December 2021 at The Agricultural Land of Tamarenja Village, Central Sulawesi, using a Randomized Complete Block Design with six cultivars as treatments replicated four times. A total of 14 characters were observed as parameters. Data analysis included analysis of variance, coefficient of phenotypic variation, coefficient of genotypic variation, heritability, and expected genetic advance. The results showed that high genetic diversity was indicated by leaf number, leaf length, tiller number, productive tiller number, number of grains per panicle, grain length, and grain production per hectare; moderate category was possessed by plant height, panicle length, days to panicle emergence, grain width, and 1000-grain weight; while the low category was indicated by harvest age and grain thickness. High heritability was obtained for the characters of plant height, tiller number, productive tiller number, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, days to panicle emergence, harvest age, grain length, grain thickness, grain width, 1000-grain weight, and grain production per hectare, while moderate heritability was found in leaf number and leaf length.
