Aplikasi Indeks Biokimia Dalam Penentuan Karakteristik Dan Kesuburan Tanah Yang Diberi Bahan Organik Terinkubasi

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas bahan organik terhadap sifat kimia dan tingkat kesuburan tanah berdasarkan nilai Indeks Biokimia. Dua faktor perlakuan yang dicobakan, yaitu Bahan Organik dibagi ke dalam lima taraf, yaitu Bo = tanpa bahan organik, B1 = 5 t, B2 = 10 t, B3 = 15 t, dan B4 = 20 t ha-1, sedangkan lama waktu inkubasi masingmasing I-1 = 2 minggu dan I-2 = 4 minggu. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan uji varians dan uji DMRT pada taraf nyata α 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian bahan organik dapat memperbaiki beberapa sifat kimia Entisol Lembah Palu. Dosis bahan organik 20 t ha-1 sangat efektif menetralkan derajat kemasaman dengan peningkatan pH-H2O hingga 7,45 dan pH-KCl 6,57. P-total dan P-tersedia juga ikut meningkat dengan bertambahnya dosis yang digunakan. Bahan organik dosis 20 t ha-1 meningkatkan P-tot dan P-tersedia masing-masing 32,97 me/100g dan 23,91 ppm, sementara KTK tanah 27,82 me/100g. Bahan organik dosis 20 ton/ha efektif pula meningkatkan C-organik hingga 4,0 g kg-1 (0,40%), demikian juga terhadap N-total sebesar 0,72 g kg-1 (0,072%), namun demikian dosis 20 t ha-1 tidak mampu meningkatkan nilai indeks kesuburan tanah.
